Self-Paced Online (SPO) courses allow students more flexibility to complete MSU Denver education, as they can work at their own pace without worrying about frequent deadlines and check-ins.
Marrying the best of content and technology, these online, self-paced learnings are designed to fit busy schedules. The courses run for 8 or 18 weeks in the spring and fall semesters and ten weeks in the summer semester. Students taking an SPO course have access to materials two weeks before the traditional semester begins.
Students can complete the course in as little as four weeks or take the entire duration. There are no required on-campus meetings.

Through MSU Denver’s SPO Courses, you can attend college courses online and learn at your pace.
SPO courses are conducted online in Canvas LMS (Learning Management System). Students log on to view a welcome video, syllabus, list of required tests and instructions about completing coursework. The instructor evaluates assignments, quizzes and exams and is available for questions. Communication is via Canvas LMS or email.
Students have 18 weeks to complete undergraduate coursework for the fall and spring semesters. During the Summer, students have ten weeks to complete.
The undergrad rate of tuition is $307.95 per credit hour.
The mandatory fees (per credit hour) consists of an Online fee, Technology fee, Metro bond fee, and one-time Health and Wellness fee.
